VZIR is a publication exploring the history and symbolism of traditional Ukrainian embroidery. The project serves as both a publication and a type specimen, featuring an original typeface designed in response to traditional embroidery patterns and providing the context and visual source of inspiration behind the letterforms.

The typeface merges the historical Cyrillic writing styles of Ustav and Poluustav with decorative forms inspired by cross-stitch embroidery, combining traditional craft with contemporary typographic design.
